ABOUT THE FOUNDER OF LEGASEAS
LegaSeas is the creation of Mr. Bernard Jain. A public school science, chemistry, and health teacher for over 20 years in the Newport-Mesa Unified School district, Jain has witnessed over and again that a better life path is most effectively found through meaningful real-life experiences in nature and the outdoors rather than abstract learning via textbooks and electronics. Via school-sponsored events, he has been instrumental in facilitating trips and activities for junior high and high school students.Â
These activities include: Catalina Island Science/Marine Biology Camps, Kayaking and Outrigger Canoe at Newport Aquatic Center (NAC), Fishing Trips/Whale Watching, trips to the Scripps Aquarium, White Seabass Hatchery, and La Jolla. With the generous support of the O.C.C. School of Sailing and Seamanship, he recently facilitated at-risk youth attending the U.S. Safe Powerboating courses and Science of Sailing courses on Newport Harbor. Unfortunately, times change, and school district support continues to dwindle for these types of programs… thus, the creation of LegaSeas. LegaSeas is a legal and transparent venue whereby these types of beneficial programs can still be realized, and are now accessible to even a larger demographic.
