Special thanks to the Orange Coast College (OCC) School of Sailing and Seamanship for their 100% support of this phenomenal and once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for students at Back Bay High School (a continuation school)!  These high school students were able to earn their Boating Card through this rigorous program.  As OCC is in the nearby vicinity of BBHS, this experience provided a “career pipeline” for students interested in the Maritime industry!  I kicked this program into action during my first year at BBHS, along with the Science of Sailing course.  Due to this program, two high school seniors enrolled in OCC’s Maritime program!  As the school district no longer supports this opportunity, my goal is to continue it through LegaSeas.
